We’re Expanding Access To Virtual Care

Virtual care, also known as telehealth, has traditionally been used as a cost-effective and convenient alternative to emergency room and urgent care center visits. But recently, health care companies have started to extend their focus and are leveraging virtual care as a way to deliver convenient access to an expanding array of services, including behavioral care.

Virtual behavioral health.
With mental health issues on the rise in America, Cigna is making it simpler for customers to seek care for conditions such as anxiety, stress and depression. Cigna now offers virtual behavioral health services through MDLIVE®. Virtual services provide a comfortable environment that can enable people to overcome the stigma of getting help.

Our collaboration with MDLIVE allows customers that are enrolled in employer-sponsored plans to schedule appointments online. As a result, they can see licensed counselors and psychiatrists when they want and where they want, securely, via phone or video chat.

"As the demand for mental health professionals continues to grow, it can be challenging for customers to have access to care at the times they need it most,” according to Julie McCarter, Vice President, Product Solutions at Cigna. “Working together with MDLIVE, we are delivering increased connectivity to help our customers live their healthiest and most vibrant lives."*

This new service complements Cigna’s existing network of more than 18,000 virtual behavioral health providers.** Learn more here.
